In order to minimize the potential negative impacts of releasing frontier Pokémon AI models on the broader competitive Pokémon landscape, pkmn.ai has worked with Smogon and Pokémon Showdown to produce the following guidelines related to publishing work product responsibly.
This policy is expected to change based on how AI and competitive Pokémon evolve over time. For the time being, you might consider including a line in your README.md as follows:
Certain aspects of this project have been redacted before release to preserve competitive integrity in accordance with the community’s Responsible Release policy.
When redacting your project, please ensure that these artifacts cannot be recovered from the version control history — creating a clean repository may be a safer and easier way to prevent these artifacts from leaking.
